This project started with a standard fighting stick enclosure that needed a complete aesthetic overhaul. The client wanted a Sakura theme, which meant the challenge wasn’t just the 3D print itself, but the labor-intensive finishing work required to get a professional look. We started by 3D designing a custom enclosure in two main sections, ensuring the ergonomics were right for long gaming sessions before hitting the printer.
Once the 7-hour print was finished, the real work began. Raw 3D prints have visible layer lines, so we spent hours sanding the PLA+ surface until it was glass-smooth. We then applied a multi-stage paint job, starting with a crisp white base and layering on vibrant pinks and a shimmering pearl white for the accents.
The result is a custom controller that feels like a factory-made product but carries a completely unique, hand-finished design.
